Yesterday was the first day of school. My teacher is SO nice! We really just did fun things. I'm excited about the school year and we'll have so much fun! No more vacation, but we still have a great year.

I am sorry to learn that you have to go back to prison so early. It should be a federal crime to start school before Labor Day. It's Un-American, it is!
We should not start school before Labor Day, Christmas stuff shouldn't be in the stores or advertised before Thanksgiving, and the Hockey season should be over by early April. Claire, my generation has failed miserably to keep some sanity with our calendar. Now it is up to your generation.

Even I start school before Labor Day. All of my students feel about me the way you feel about your teacher, pretty much...
